As far as my future goes, I want it to be concrete. I want to start my career somewhere and work many years there. I know this is easier said than done. My plan right now is to get my Master’s degree because the job I have my sights set on requires that I graduate with one.

My goal is to become and academic advisor for students on a college campus. Now, some of you may think, “BORINGGGG” but it isn’t all that it is made up to be. My advisor, Tom, is probably my biggest inspiration since I stepped foot on Plattsburgh’s campus.
He doesn’t just fix schedules and check his email all day. He puts everything he has into creating opportunities for upcoming professionals. From helping with community service events to being the consultant for a fraternity, he takes every opportunity to inspire.

This is Tom and I holding a ‘Student Affairs Vision Award’ that I received for my efforts to provide the Plattsburgh townspeople with free personal care items. Tom was my inspiration for the charity event which became my proudest accomplishment of my college career.

I’ve been trying to find a way to inspire for a long time now. Writing has become my fix for now but I just don’t think it will last. I doubt my writing abilities too much to think I could become full-time inspiring with writing. Plus, college students intrigue me. They are in this transition from the nonsense of high school to making a name for themselves. They will accomplish great things while building a yellow brick road straight to their future. I want to be a part of that.

I want to inspire the young adults that walk through the college atmosphere. I want to be able to put everything I have into the education and future of these driven college students. As of right now, I am completely content with setting my sights on my future career.
