Sometimes I feel like people don’t sit back and take in the inspiration that people give them. Whether it is family, friends, or celebrities giving the inspiration; We tend to have the ‘I don’t care’ attitude. Although this is usually true, there has been a buzz about a recent inspiration that came to us via The ESPYs.

Stuart Scott, a valued member of ESPN and inspiration to cancer fighters alike, gave a speech that struck people through the heart and mind. As you probably already know, cancer has touched most of our populations lives. Whether we have been through the survival of cancer or know someone who has, it seems that everyone has a story.

Stuart Scott decided to lend us this advice while accepting the Jimmy V Perseverance Award which is a testament to his fight with cancer.

“When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer… You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.”

This line struck the people who were attending the ESPYs as well as viewers everywhere. I won’t regurgitate the entire speech, although I will post the full video.

Listen to what he says and how he says it. If we could stick together the way that Scott and his family/fans have done, we would be better off. Thank you to Stuart Scott for giving the speech of a lifetime.
